About Us
Our Story
Southwest Family Farms is a fifth generation family farm located in the heart of southwest Kansas. What began as a small homestead has grown over more than a century into a modern grain operation — yet the values that guided our great-great-grandparents still guide us today.
We farm both family-owned ground and land that is rented and crop-shared from neighboring landowners and farming partnerships. Our operation spans thousands of acres across the southwest Kansas plains, where we raise corn, wheat, milo, soybeans, and cotton.
Every season brings new challenges — drought, market swings, equipment breakdowns — but five generations of farming have taught us resilience. We face each year with the same determination and pride that has carried our family through more than a hundred harvests.
What We Grow
Corn
A cornerstone of our operation, grown with precision irrigation and variable-rate fertility programs to maximize yield on every acre.
Wheat
Winter wheat has been part of our farm since the beginning. We plant in the fall and harvest in early summer, rotating it through our fields to improve soil health.
Milo (Grain Sorghum)
A drought-tolerant crop well-suited to the southwest Kansas climate. Milo is an important part of our rotation and a reliable performer in dry years.
Soybeans
We grow soybeans as part of our crop rotation to fix nitrogen in the soil and diversify our revenue stream across different commodity markets.
Cotton
Cotton is one of the more demanding crops we raise, but it thrives in our warm southwest Kansas summers and adds important diversity to our operation.
